Introductory course for work as a

Health ambassador

Background
Training of health ambassadors has been earlier been undertaken by Biskops-Arnö – a folk high school in Sweden
The task of a health ambassador is to inspire and carry through a variety of activities that have been decided in her/his organisation for promoting health and social well-being.
We all know that a healthy and balanced way of life is important to keep and restore good health. A good social structure on the job is one of the most important factors for good health. The ambassadors may propose different alternatives and inspire those who have not yet started their own activities.

The target group consists of people within organisations, who are interested in promoting good health for a richer life.

Setomaa, at lake Peipsi

Meeting in Seto Minority Culture House (2006)
Meeting with Mr Aare Hörn, responsible for culture & development in Setomaa Rural Municipalities Union - we also were introduced and met The Seto King (elected for one year)
The outcome was a new idea for a new co-operation; to set up a Seto Folk High School or “Folk School” both on Estonian as well on Russian territory of Setomaa. For this, a separate meeting between partners will be carried out. The Swedish Embassy in Estonia has also supported this idea.
We have had an eager communication during the fall - one of the representatives of Setomaa has experience of Swedish Folk High School and the idea is to combine and develop a “Folk High School Pattern” in Setomaa with emphasis on Art and Craft (Soto’s are very skilled in textiles). For this idea we also plead for support from Swedish Folk High Schools.
Preliminary we plan for meeting in Setomaa beginning of 2008.
